Haunted Beauty Series Finale

I'm sad to say this wonderful series, Haunted Beauty, has come to an end. I love this series as it's collectible Halloween dolls for adults, so it's not all pink and cute. Not that I have issues with the playline Halloween Barbie dolls, obviously! It's been refreshing to have a sophisticated Halloween doll every year and now it's over.
But, if the series has to end, at least it ended on a high note! The Haunted Beauty Zombie Bride doll is GORGEOUS! I didn't have the pleasure of opening her myself as my husband did it for me, so I don't have any pictures of her still in the box.

And so ends another great series! I hope you love these dolls as much as I do! Happy Halloween everyone!

Truly Outrageous Jem!

In honor of the Jem and the Holograms movie released this past weekend, I present the truly outrageous JEM!
A little back story first. One Saturday morning, I was browsing the channels for something to watch. I came across this program, Super Saturday, which had a segment called Jem. I didn't get to see it from the beginning, but came in on "episode 9" as I like to refer to it. It was the part where Jem and the Holograms perform on Lin-Z's show and the set starts to fall on Jem for the cliffhanger. I'd missed the following week, so I didn't get to see her get rescued until the repeats, but didn't miss an episode after this!
When I found out Hasbro was going to be releasing a line of dolls based on this cartoon, I was psyched! I couldn't wait to get my hands on these dolls! I scoured the stores looking for them! For some reason, I was expecting them to be smaller than Barbies, like about 6 inches tall. Imagine my surprise when I saw they were a little bigger than Barbie!
The colors, the fashions, the GORGEOUS artwork on the boxes! I just couldn't get enough! I remember seeing a mother buying a doll for her daughter and thinking that little girl was so lucky! I was finally able to get one for myself! It was AMAZING! I still have my original, but wanted to get another one still in the box, so when I was older and had some money, I found one fairly cheap on Ebay (my best friend for finding dolls from my past!). I kept her in the box and was thankful I did so, for two years ago, Christy Marx, the creator of Jem, was at ComiCon! I was able to meet her and to have her sign my doll! It was a dream come true!

Autographed by Christy Marx herself!

The stunning back of the box
This is the only doll I've kept in the box from the Jem line. I don't have all of the dolls, but I'm still hopeful one I day I will. I will showcase the dolls I do have in another, future post, but for now, the one and only Jem! TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!

The Barbie Diaries - Part 2

As promised, this post will showcase the fashions which were available for The Barbie Diaries dolls as well as the two playsets. As I mentioned in the previous post, Barbie and her friends all had additional outfits, but sadly her rival, Raquelle, did not. Each set came with three outfits for the dolls, a dress, a top and jeans and another top and skirt or pants. They also came with two pairs of footwear, a purse and jewelry.

The playsets were cute! One side was lightly stuffed so you could have it as a decorative pillow, then the back opened up to reveal a playset with a fashion for Barbie and some small pieces for play!

This was a very cute line of dolls and I was happy with them! As I've said, the only drawback for me was lack of additional fashions for Raquelle. Until next time, take care and have fun!

The Barbie Diaries

For some reason, I like dolls which are portrayed as going to high school (such as Generation Girl, which is my all-time favorite line of Barbie dolls) or in a band (such as Barbie and the Rockers). In 2006, The Barbie Diaries, an animated Barbie film was released and this combined both of my likes! Barbie was in high school with her two friends, Tia and Courtney. Also joining them was Barbie's former best friend and now enemy, Raquelle. Barbie and her friends were in a band, with Barbie playing guitar, Courtney on drums and Tia on keyboard. Barbie found a magic diary, which made her wishes come true, but it didn't work out as she had planned.

A line of dolls was put out to coincide with this movie, which included Barbie, Tia, Courtney and Raquelle. Additional outfits for Barbie, Tia and Courtney were released, but, sadly, not for Raquelle. Also two playsets, the school dance and Barbie's bedroom, were released. The playsets were disguised as pillows.

Barbie was the only doll to come with her instrument. She also came with an amplifier, which played snippets of three songs from the movie and the magic diary, sheets of music and pretend CDs.

The other dolls each came with a charm to put on a charm bracelet along with other accessories, such as phones, make up and headphones.

Halloween Barbie 2015

I finally finished this year's collection! I couldn't find the "grocery store" version of Barbie, so I had to order her from Amazon. Thank goodness for all of those giftcards I've stocked up as she was free! SCORE!
I bought all of the Target dolls at the same time as I didn't want to take any chances on not getting them all. This has happened before and I didn't want it to happen again. The Halloween Magic Barbie is dressed in a cute orange dress with a black cat theme. She even has on a kitty ear headband! She also has small orange streaks in her hair.

The Halloween Chelsea dolls are cute as well, but have painted on tops, which some people see as a negative thing, but since I don't redress these dolls, this doesn't affect me. I just wish they would give the dolls individual names as they had done previously.

The Moonlight Halloween Barbie is very similar to the Halloween Magic Barbie except she's wearing a purple dress with a black cat theme and has purple streaks in her hair. Still, she is very cute and I'm happy to have her!

So, once again, my collection of Halloween Barbies is complete...until next year!
