The Celestial Collection

In 2000, Mattel released one of the most beautiful collections I've seen. It consisted of three dolls and they were all gorgeous! They were based off of the moon, the sun and the stars and each had a unique look to them.
The first one I found was Midnight Moon Princess. I found her in Target on clearance (lucky me!) and snatched her up! She is a pale beauty with long dark hair. Her jewelry is made of pearls (looks like moons) and has a crescent moon dangling over her forehead. Her bracelets are connected by two ropes of pearls and form a crescent shape as they hang from her outstretched arms. Her box is purple and has a full moon sailing among the clouds as a backdrop.

It took me awhile to complete this collection since I didn't buy them when they were in the store. The next doll I bought was Evening Star Princess at a second hand store called Bookman's. She is such a beauty! Her gown is dark blue with gold sparkles and she has a belt with a star hanging at her waist. Her box is dark blue and her background is blue with sparkles, like a night sky.

The final doll in the series, I bought off of Amazon with gift cards I'd saved up. She is Morning Sun Princess and she is spectacular! She is dressed in gold and has an amazing headdress shaped like the rays of the sun as it rises. Her box is light blue and her background is of the morning sky as the sun rises, with light blue sky and golden clouds.

All in all, these dolls were gorgeous and I love the concept of them. They were indeed celestial and they were beauties!

Faraway Forest Collection

One of my FAVORITE collector lines, besides the Haunted Beauty collection, is the Faraway Forest collection. I was so excited when I heard about this line as I love fantasy things, like elves, faeries and magic!
So far, three dolls have been released for this line, with a potential for four more based upon the map for the Faraway Forest. So far, the elf from the Elf Village, the Lady of the White Woods and the Dark Forest Queen have been released, leaving the Mystical Meadows, Fairy Kingdom, Magical Lagoon and Crystal Caves to come. I can't wait to see them all!
The first doll released was the Elf. She was a gorgeous redhead dressed in green. I love the crystal topped staff she has! She has pointed elf ears and carries the map of the Faraway Forest!

The next doll is the Lady of the White Woods. For some reason, she makes me think of a snowy white owl. I think it's her dress more than anything. I love the way her crown and necklace look like branches of a tree. For some reason though, she looks like she has a sadness about her, like being the Lady of the White Woods hangs heavy over her. There's a story there somewhere!

The third doll in the collection is the Queen of the Dark Forest. She has a dragon-like look to her with her horned crown and her necklace almost looks like a dragon's head. Plus, her dress almost has a scale-like pattern to it. She looks very sinister indeed!

I can't wait to see what the next doll in the series will be! I'll just have to be patient and wait it out, but until then, I can only imagine!
